KEWAZO develops a smart robotics solution for the scaffolding industry. The robotic system “Geruestbot” provides flexible, cost efficient and safe transportation of the scaffolding parts during the scaffolding assembly process. Interdisciplinary Project (IDP) for TUM M.Sc. Informatics Students

1) Develop a frontend for the visualization of data from the construction site such as how many kg our robots transport per day.

Our robots mainly transport scaffolding parts and are operated by a system we design on our own. Since our robots are also collecting a lot of data, we want to make this data more useful by visualizing it for our customers. Any frontend technologies that make sense in this context may be used.

2) Develop a backend for the analysis of data on the construction site such as how many kg our robots transport per day.

Our robots mainly transport scaffolding parts and are operated by system we design on our own. Since our robots are also collecting a lot of data, we want to make this data more useful by creating a sub-system for data analytics that can use any technologies and programming languages that make sense in this context

3) Implementation of an RFID reader routine and design of a database to store the acquired data.

The robot is operating on the scaffolding structure and at each time we need to know its position along the rails. For this reason we need to read and process the data (id of the rail) that are  acquired through the RFID reader of the robot. This project includes the design of a database as well as the implementation of the RFID reader routine. Knowledge of C++ and any other DBMS technologies are desired.

The above IDP projects can be undertaken as a single person or a team project.

Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects

1) Retraction Mechanism of the slider for the direction changing mechanism of the Robotic Module

  • Conceptual design according to the requirements
  • Preliminary CAD design and structural analysis
  • Simulation and motion analysis

2) Rail Gripping Mechanism.

  • Conceptual design of a Robotic Gripper.
  • Preliminary CAD design taking into the consideration limitations (dimensions, weight, force resistance, power).
  • Conceptual design of an Emergency Locking Mechanism.

3) Concept development and preliminary design of the robot’s Power Transmission

  • Analyze the two existing configurations (proposed by KEWAZO) of the driving unit.
  • Keep weight, size and power requirements into consideration in order to select the better fitting configuration.
  • Preliminary CAD design according KEWAZO’s design standarts.

4) Battery and Battery Management System.

1) Identification of the alternative market applications of the technology

  • Decomposition of the KEWAZO technology (description of the characteristics, benefits and attributes)
  • Implementation of the selected technology transfer/technology push methodology to the given technology
  • Identification of the most promising spheres of the potential technology application for the KEWAZO technology
